السلام عليكم

I've never had these particular experiences, but I have had the impression that I was getting inferior service to non-Muslim customers in a local cafe/restaurant, because they knew I would come back and they couldn't depend on the non-Muslims to do the same. There is not a good range of halal facilities in Kingston and the competition had some haraam among the food they served (in one case, they had a halal sign in the window, but the 'bacon' turned out to be turkey, which actually wasn't halal). The staff also tried to get me to marry one of their waitresses, most of them non-Muslim and none of them in hijab, and they took my paper and put it in the rack and then had a go at me for taking it off another customer. Some Muslims talk a lot about da'wah, but then they fawn over non-Muslims at the expense of other Muslims.

AS

May Allah reward you for enjoying the good and forbidding the evil even if it implicates other Muslims justice and truth is more precious for it is what Allah enjoins.

If you permit me to say something it would be appreciated. As a point of advice Muslims should not be duped by hearing the phrase do it for Allah neither from themselves nor from others. Rather, if we want to do something for the sake of Allah let us do it according to the rules of Allah or else we are dealing with whim and caprice.

salaam ailakum...

Subhanallah... I don't think you could have worded this any better... Thank you for writing this post. I agree that this is an issue that must be addressed and fixed. It is definitely a sad day when a Muslim does not want to work with a Muslim organization, and I see that all too often unfortunately....

May Allah guide us all to treat each other with fairness, to fulfill our obligations towards one another as brothers and sisters in Islam, and do so for the sake of Allah...

A very thoughtful and scholarly review. Thank you! I am curious though, I recently read that the Zune is now compatible with ITunes...or is it that ITunes is compatible with Zune and other MP3 players? Anywho, what are your thoughts about the Zune with this newly added functionality?

Thank you again!
